So what are you guys favoring these days?

Lately, I've been getting into my Music Man Albert Lee (with HBs) and playing my Aria Herb Ellis and Ibanez Joe Pass guitars quite a bit. I like to keep them set up a bit differently, so I can transition between styles easily.

I think I remember Doug saying he really likes the Carvin Allan Holdsworth model.

The Music Mans have a short scale neck? That would be great.
As i don't really play anything outside of jazz these days, I'm using my Gibson 137 all the time. I still want that fuller tone when i play. In terms of pedals, I've been circling the Strymon El Capistan like a shark 🙂

John, you'd really dig the Empress Modified Delay. Man, what a beauty of a pedal. I've accumulated quite a few pedals over the past few years, including a Ethos overdrive (1 year on the wait list). I think the Albert Lee has a standard strat scale, but they're nice to get around on. Overall, it's a very small guitar, with mohagany body, and a one-piece unfinished rosewood neck that feels great.

The 137 is a fine guitar. I've found some the of best guitars, ever, in the Japanese-made Aria Pro II series. I have a 335 style and several Herb Ellis models. Superior build quality, great playability, and great tone. Even the stock pickups sound great on these guitars. They're pretty hard to find, and haven't been made since the mid to late '80s.

Eastmans, ElRey 1 and 803CE. I've been playing the ElRey Most of the time. Also a cheap Takamine Classical.

The El Rey 1 looks and sounds beautiful Bob. Just checked out it online with Jack Zucker demonstrating.
Are they pretty consistent in terms of picking one of the shelf? How do Eastmans go in that department?

I have a D'Angelico EX-DC cherry red through a custom made 18W valve amp. The power valves are 6V6's electroharmonix brand. Same with the 12ax7's. I also use an Ibanez AF155 for gigs as well.
