Post Classical guitarist doing great jazz.

I really am partial to the nylon string guitar. Always have been. Classical was my first choice but I never did get very good at it. I enjoy great jazz on classical and nylon guitars. Brazilian masters got me hooked.

This arrangement of Oscar Peterson's "Laurentide Waltz" played by the Zagreb Guitar Quartet was arranged for guitar by Ante Cagalj. I have the original Canadiana Suite by O.P. It is really a wonderful piece of work.

I am a newbie here and I was just trying to get acquainted.

Thanks.

Isn't it a wonderful sound! Thank you for sharing this. I've never heard an adaption of this sort before. I can appreciate the amount of work that has gone into this performance.
Kudos to the Zegrab Guitar Quartet! I can't say I know any jazz guitarists from Croatia but I'm sure there are many.

Thanks for the reply John. There is really a lot of great stuff out there. Laurindo Almeida and Charlie Byrd really did some amazing stuff. I have this Bach Fugue by Laurindo Almeida and the MJQ on vinyl. In our quartet we performed an arrangement for four guitars. It is a spectacular piece. This is true to the original Bach score.

Alex Ciavarelli is going places. This young man is a great musician. Graduated high school at 16. Sometimes kids like that tend to be a bit cocky and sure of themselves. Not this guy. Wonderful kid. Give him a listen. You will be hearing more from him certainly. Thanks for allowing me to post.

This kid will be great, I'm sure he will keep going- watch for the new Sid Jacobs video coming out later this month with all kinds of classical type voice leading for your solo guitar playing.
