At the recent jazz festival in Montreal Gil Gutiérrez (of the San Miguel 5) performed this wonderful piece on his Laviolette cutaway classical guitar.

People that know me well know that I am a huge Towner fan - one of the biggest complements I ever got on my playing was when a trumpet player came up and asked if I listened to him after hearing me do a solo gig - not that I am close to his chops at all, but it is great that someone could hear that I was at least trying. If you can find his out of print book on improvisation for classical guitarists, it's fantastic, especially for his atonal improvising concepts. This is "Green and Golden", one of the Ralph pieces that I play, it's a favorite, and it's cool that Gil made it his own, it's a very difficult piece but gorgeous. Your guitar building is great, I love the sound of his instrument!

Thanks Doug. I also love Ralph Towner's work. Sometimes he has similarities to Egberto Gismonti. You have a very impressive background. I appreciate the comments as well. Best regards to you and I hope we get to meet some day. Len
