May I suggest someone take on the subject of playing guitar in a guitar/bass/drums trio. I haven't been able to find ANYTHING about this anywhere. When I suggested it to one online teacher he just said, "Mmm, that would be interesting," then let it drop.

Well, that's a good point and I will suggest it to some of the artists here, but i would check out the Masterclasses by Ron Eschete and Tim Lerch and also Sid Jacobs for related material. I think the main issues in a trio is how to not get in the bass players way but also coming from the other end getting a bass player that will support you with playing more than the root and fifth. Sorry for the really late response to this, both me and my partner John Pin have recently moved into new houses and we are WAY behind 😉

Yes it would be good to cover the idea of trio. Playing heads and solos with enough harmonic support but also to maintain fluency. I think the Tim Lerch "Art of Two Note Accompaniment" goes towards this topic.
What types of trio are your favorites, which recordings?
