Ron Eschete - Charlie Parker Blues
All jazz guitar players need to learn to improvise over what’s known as the “Charlie Parker Blues”, a sophisticated modification of the basic 12 bar blues progression with a lot of twists and turns and many possible “substitutions” for these chords. In this masterclass of the same name, Ron Eschete, who has played Charlie Parker and otherwise blues with Milt Jackson, Ray Brown, Gene Ammons, Sarah Vaughan, and many more, shows you all the trucks and turns you need to know to burn it up. In “Charlie Parker Blues”, Ron shows you how to identify the guide tones of the progression and base improvisations on them, and lots of substitution turn around sections etc. There are lots of transcribed improvised solos and chord voicings as well, and lots so explanations of the concepts behind what he improvises so you can learn to do all of this for yourself.
