Hi. My name is Len Laviolette. I am a luthier in San Diego. I would like to introduce myself to the members of this forum. I do not like to barge in and try to make a splash, but I do think that I have something worthwhile to offer. For the last 27 years or so I have made classical and cutaway classical guitars. It has evolved to the point where my favorite guitars are for jazz guys. They are a hell of a lot more fun to work with than classical guys, even though I love classical guitar.
I work alone in my garage and I do this because I love to do it. I am not in it for the money. I am a retired land surveyor and I am now doing my guitar work as an avocation.
Please give me a look and feel free to comment about any aspect of my work.

I'm so impressed! You already have a number of wonderful musicians playing your instruments.
I can't imagine how rewarding that must be. Your guitars are works of art in themselves.
Thank you for posting here. Stay well.

Thank you John. This is really a lot like trying to become a good player. My first choice was to be a good player. That ain't never gonna happen. This is a bit like it. I do it for the love of doing it. Nice to get a good paying gig once in a while...but I would do it anyhow.

Thanks again.
